Another Day to Voice Wagering Opinions
5 Apr 2006

The public wants to have its say and the Governor of Pennsylvania is taking heed. Because of unprecedented public interest in the issue of wagering and the proposed wagering facilities for the Pennsylvania area, the Gaming Board has added a fourth day of hearings on the applications for those who wish to express their opinions regarding the proposed wagering facilities. The new date will be announced at a later stage, but the original dates of April 10-12 are still applicable.

The Board wishes to hear public input on the five proposals they have received for two wagering licenses which they will grant to the City of Philadelphia. The Board will be available to hear applicants and input regarding the wagering proposals at horseracing tracks in Bucks County and Delaware County on the new hearing date. The Board believes that public input is essential and that public opinion is heard regarding this important issue. The Board says that wagering is not an issue to be taken lightly and it awaits to hear the public's say.

The Board said that it has received over 1000 applications to be heard regarding the wagering issues and will be informing everyone where and when they will be granted a hearing. The Board said that it will also accept written comments and these can be mailed until the 2nd of June.
